Utility billing · Android · Field operations
Cutting a utility billing cycle from 20 days to 8.
An Android spot-billing solution moved bill generation to the consumer’s doorstep, helping a power-trading company bill around 10,000 distribution consumers inside a mandated ten-day window.

Electricity billing ran on a tight monthly clock. Meter readings were collected in the field, returned for processing and converted into bills before a separate physical dispatch run began.
Bill generation alone consumed about ten days; dispatch extended the complete cycle to roughly twenty. Consumers received bills late, payment windows became shorter and the utility’s cash collection was delayed every month.
We built an Android application that lets meter readers capture a reading and generate the complete bill during the household visit.
Moving calculation and delivery to the point of reading removed back-office waiting and eliminated the separate dispatch stage. Digital payment enablement also allowed consumers to act on the bill immediately.
